What it helps you do

A practical path from signal to action

01

Protect the backup chain

Run SMO-based full, differential, and log backups with compression, CHECKSUM, optional encryption, and chain prerequisite checks.

02

Verify before transfer

Run RESTORE VERIFYONLY and calculate SHA-256 before files move to the primary destination or an optional cloud mirror.

03

Operate securely

Keep machine secrets and service controls in the local desktop app while operators use an HTTPS web console with JWT roles.

How it works

Typical workflow

  1. Configure the backup server

Use the elevated desktop control panel for paths, secrets, service setup, and diagnostics.

  2. Create a plan

Register SQL Servers and storage, choose databases and backup type, then define retention and scheduling.

  3. Run and verify

The Agent executes the backup, verifies the media set, uploads approved files, and records progress and history.

Run it yourself

Requirements and quick start

Requirements

  • Windows x64 for the self-hosted backup server
  • The portable package for deployment; .NET 8 SDK only for source development
  • Network access from the backup server to SQL Server and selected storage
  • An HTTPS management endpoint restricted to an admin LAN or VPN for remote use

Quick start

Download and extract the portable server
$zip = Join-Path $PWD 'SqlBackup.Server-portable-win-x64.zip'
Invoke-WebRequest 'https://raw.githubusercontent.com/rsharma155/sqloptima_releases/main/sqlbackup_pro/SqlBackup.Server-portable-win-x64.zip' -OutFile $zip
Expand-Archive $zip -DestinationPath '.\SqlBackup.Server'
Run from source during development
dotnet run --project src/SqlBackup.Api/SqlBackup.Api.csproj
dotnet run --project src/SqlBackup.Agent/SqlBackup.Agent.csproj
